Our pilot project in the 22 Basic/Infant ended on June 30, 2022. This coincided with the end of the school term and Year. A Report including the Pre and Post Assessments, is being prepared and will be submitted to the ECC shortly. We are hopeful that the Report will be accepted and the books approved for use in all basic/infant schools, in the new school year.
We have enjoyed working with you and are confident that the philosophy and opinions of Right Honourable Marcus Garvey, Jamaica’s first National Hero, will be taught in schools. Special thanks to Professor Clinton Hutton, Mrs. Millicent DaCosta, and Dr. Donna “Akilah” Wright who lead the “Teach the Teachers” Workshops with professionalism that should be emulated. The invocations and innovative Icebreakers were appreciated.
The books “Marcus Teaches Us” by Dr. Eleanor Wint and the “Financial Literacy for Children” by Ms. Elizabeth Gordon, have been received well by all stakeholders.
